RESULT: Your Score is: out of 15.

Let’s look at what your scores mean:

  • If your score is between1-3

Your child is probably OK, and may just have times when their behavior is a problem (because they are tired or hungry).

Try to look for patterns and see if you figure out what triggers these issues.

  • If your score is between 4-6

Your child has some significant behavioral problems and you need to assess what, if any triggers, will cause your child to act out.

Then study the discipline techniques recommended on this site and try to get your child back on track.

  • If your score is between 7-10

Your child is probably considered ‘impossible’ or a ‘brat’ by most people. That does not mean you should abandon all hope of discipline.

You can use the techniques recommended on this site to help you and your child break old habits and establish a more cooperative and effective method of discipline.

  • If your score is more than 10

You should work with the techniques recommended on this site and consider involving an outside party – like a family or child counselor – to give you an objective assessment of your interaction with your child and determine if there are other problems.

NOTE:

Be sure to include a thorough health evaluation to be sure your child does not have medical or mental disorders that may affect his ability to understand and obey directions.
